Twisted Sawtooth 2025

This 500-square-foot ground-up art studio was designed and built in close collaboration with artist and homeowner Kevin Taylor and his longtime friend and talented architect, Joe Schollmeyer. From the start, the mission was simple: create a dedicated creative space that allowed Kevin to be closer to home and fully immersed in his work that’s also super cool. Mission accomplished.

The design process was a hands-on, creative partnership between the client and architect, with K&S Design Build supporting the vision every step of the way. From structural engineering and planning to permitting, project management, and completion. The structure features a striking custom twisted sawtooth roof, parallelogram windows, and exposed interior rafters. Each detail is carefully considered to invite and shape the way natural light flows throughout the day. The result is a dynamic, light-filled space that inspires from every corner.
